Sri Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, born on 8 January 1957, is currently serving as a MP Lok Sabha from Kaiserganj. He is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party. He is a sesoned politician who has battled many challenges as is evident for being a Member of Parliament six times. He has represented the Gonda, Kaiserganj, and Balrampur constituencies.
He is also the current president of the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI).
Shri Brij Bhushan Singh was present in the Lok Sabha when the Women’s Reservation Bill was passed. The Constitution (One Hundred and Twenty-Eighth Amendment) Bill, 2023, which seeks to provide 33% reservation to women in the Lok Sabha and state legislative assemblies, was passed by the Lok Sabha on September 20. This bill is considered historic by the BJP government.
Personal Life
He was born in the Rajput family of Shri Jagdamba Sharan Singh and Smt. Pyari Devi Singh. He studied law at Saket P.G. College in Ayodhya. He married Ketki Devi Singh in 1981 and they have three sons and a daughter. His son Prateek Bhushan is an MLA, UP.
